JetBackup 4 refuses to install on a new AlmaLinux 8 server running cPanel

I am following these instructions: https://docs.jetbackup.com/manual/whm/GeneralInformation/installation.html First, the JetApps option does not appear in the WHM menus under Plugins. Second, when I run the command to install JetBackup 4 I get this error in the shell: ---- Failed to get versions ---...

Re: Jetbackup5 Settings Import/Export

I find it incomprehensible that a settings transfer tool (export / import) hasn't been created for JB5. From the start! As a company specializing in backups, this is ludicrous. Pushing us to the API is just lazy. At the VERY LEAST, give us an example of how to import those settings. You HAVE to to d...

Feature request: Can we see how much data is going to be restored or backed up and the progress

Currently, it's a complete mystery in JetBackup how much data is on our backup destination, and therefore how much is going to be restored. I have a restore happening now that so far has taken over 5 hours to retrieve 11GB of data. I have no visibility on how much data it's bringing back, what the p...

Re: Rsync backup uploads very slow

I have the same question. I have about 11GB of data that so far has taken over 5 hours to download. My server shows about 5-6Mb/s data coming in from rsync. This is REALLY slow. I'm not expecting gigabit speeds, but really? This is incredibly slow. And JetBackup support shrug their shoulders and say...

Re: Does Jetbackup make a full copy of the server data before it runs an Rsync to your destination?

So I agree that being able to try out Jetbackup is great. But when I go to the 14 day trial link, I enter the information it asks for, then it asks for my credit card. There is no indication on the credit card page that I will NOT be charged for 14 days. It just straight up looks like it's going to ...

That wasn't the question I asked.

Does Jetbackup make a full copy of the server files to the local server, before it runs the backup?

Thanks

Thank you for the confirmation.

Can I strongly suggest you make sure that information is clearly stated on your webpages.

It is NOT on the linked docs page, nor any other page I have seen. It might be there, but it really does need to be very obvious.

Cheers,
Norm

Does Jetbackup make a full copy of the server data before it runs an Rsync to your destination?

I'm looking at Jetbackup as an alternative to the built in Cpanel backup. One reason is that the cpanel backup insists on making a full backup copy of the server data to a /backup directory before running the Rsync backup. This means that you always have to have twice the server space available in o...

Hi ya, So I'm investigating Jetbackup, and the website is VERY unclear about how the actual backup destination works. When I came in, I assumed that Jetbackup also supplied storage space. But as I looked around, what I saw IMPLIED (but I cannot find any statement) that you had to have your own stora...
