JetBackup minimum memory requirement is 2Gb. As the cPanel recommend on Centos 7 OS.

JetBackup 4.1 Going to be with lots of changes and improvement, so, unfortunately, There is no official ETA for a release at this moment.
A rough estimate is that it's going to be about a year.
